This privacy policy applies to the Maktap app for mobile devices and web browsers, together with any related services operated by Maktap Team (collectively, the "Application"). Maktap Team is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

• Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address
• The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages
• The time spent on the Application
• The operating system you use

For a better experience while using the Application, the Service Provider may require you to provide certain personally identifiable information (most of which is completely optional and submitted voluntarily by creating a user profile), including but not limited to: Full name, Email address, Phone number, Profile picture/Avatar URL, Birth date, Gender, Personal biography (Bio), IP address, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token, Device type, Notification history, Educational background (University, School, Faculty, Grade, Course, Sector), Professional details (Workplace, Teaching subjects, Professional position, Years of experience), User preferences (Favorite subjects, Interested grades/schools/universities). The information requested will be retained and used as described in this privacy policy.

The Service Provider may use the information you provide to send important information, required notices, and, where permitted by law, system communications.

Public Educational Data Disclaimer & Take-Down Policy

The Application visualizes public school directories, teacher rosters, alumni listings, and associated public media files for general educational and informational purposes. Please review the following legal framework regarding this public information:

• Source of Information: All school directories, public teacher rosters, alumni data, and public photographs displayed within the Application are sourced strictly from publicly available, open-access official internet resources of the educational authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan (including but not limited to public domains such as https://bakimektebleri.edu.az/ and its associated public directories or endpoints). The Application does not generate, alter, or independently host this institutional data; it merely provides an optimized, centralized, and user-friendly software interface to view publicly accessible records.
• Transparency Framework: To ensure strict compliance and data authenticity, every public profile or institutional record displays an information ("i") button. Clicking this button explicitly reveals the exact source URL and the timestamp indicating when that specific public data was indexed from the web.
• Right to Object & Content Removal (Opt-Out): The Service Provider deeply respects individual privacy rights and data autonomy. If you are a teacher, alumnus, school official, or private citizen whose publicly indexed information or photograph appears in this Application, and you prefer your data not to be visible on our user interface, you have the absolute right to request its immediate restriction or deletion.
• How to Submit a Request: Please contact the Service Provider directly via email at [email protected]. Upon receiving your verified notice, the Service Provider will immediately remove, hide, or blacklist the specified information from the Application's databases, completely independent of whether the data remains active on the primary external government portals.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Application or its third-party SDKs may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to support functionality, core analytics, or stable service delivery. Where required by applicable law, the Service Provider will obtain consent before deploying non-essential tracking mechanisms.

Location Information

The Application accesses your device's location to provide core location-based features, such as identifying and calculating physical distances to the nearest schools. Please note that this real-time location data (latitude and longitude) is processed ephemerally on the fly; it is never permanently stored, logged, or retained in the Service Provider's database and is discarded immediately after transmitting the requested proximal results back to your device.

• Geolocation Services: The Service Provider utilizes local device geolocation APIs solely to calculate proximal distances to public academic institutions.
• Analytics and System Loads: Aggregated, fully anonymized regional locations may help understand general usage density to balance server capacities.
• Third-Party Infrastructure: Location data may be emulated through secure third-party cloud infrastructure necessary to compute geolocation distance matrices, strictly subject to this safety policy.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held by the Service Provider. To exercise these rights, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, contact the Service Provider at [email protected].

Third Party Access & Integrations

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and system architecture. The Application utilizes trusted third-party infrastructure services that maintain autonomous privacy standards. Below are the direct links to the privacy frameworks used by these providers:

• Google Analytics for Firebase

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information: as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal processes; when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, protect user safety, investigate fraud, or respond to an official government request; or with trusted backend services providers who work strictly on their behalf and maintain no independent use of the shared metrics.

Opt-Out Rights

You can halt all further collection of local device parameters by uninstalling the Application. Uninstalling stops local performance telemetry but does not automatically purge custom user profiles previously submitted through voluntary registrations. To completely and permanently delete your user profile along with all associated optional metadata, please dispatch an explicit deletion directive to [email protected].

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider retains personal data based strictly on its necessity for operational safety:

• User Provided Data: Retained for the duration of your active utilization of the Application plus 12 months thereafter, unless a direct deletion directive is initiated by the profile owner.
• Automatically Collected Data: Retained for up to 24 months from collection to monitor API rate limiting, system stability, and prevent malicious spam attacks.
• Aggregated and Anonymized Data: Retained indefinitely as non-identifiable statistical reference points.

Children's Privacy

The Application is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older (the age of full legal capacity in the jurisdiction of operation). Minors under the age of 18 may utilize this Application solely under the active guidance, direct supervision, and implicit consent of a parent or legal guardian. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect or solicit data from unsupervised minors. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has created an unauthorized profile, contact [email protected] for immediate administrative removal from our infrastructure.

Security

The Service Provider is deeply concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Standard electronic, procedural, and physical safeguards are deployed to protect all data processed and maintained against unauthorized access or breaches.

Data Breach Notification

If a data security breach occurs that affects your personal data, the Service Provider will notify affected users in accordance with applicable legal requirements, transparently outlining the nature of the breach and the immediate corrective mitigations being deployed.

Changes

The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates will be announced directly within the Application interface along with a refreshed effective date. Your continued use of the platform after updates implies acceptance of the revised framework.
