Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to the Maktap app for mobile devices and web browsers, together with any related services operated by Maktap Team (collectively, the "Application"). Maktap Team is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".
By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you explicitly agree to these Terms and Conditions. You should read them carefully before using the Application. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Application.
Age Restriction & Legal Capacity
By accessing and using this Application, you represent and warrant that you are legally permitted to use it in your jurisdiction. You must be at least 18 years of age (the age of full legal capacity under the civil legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan) to create an account or utilize the personalized profile features of the Application. If you are under 18, you may only utilize this Application under the active supervision and implicit consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.
License to use the Application
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Service Provider grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Application on a mobile device or computer strictly for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Application, except as and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law.
Intellectual Property Rights
The Service Provider retains all intellectual property rights in the Application itself, including its source code, front-end design, database structures, trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, and proprietary branding (the "IP"). Nothing in these Terms grants you any license or right to use the Service Provider's trademarks, logos, or branding for any commercial or external purpose. You agree not to remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices displayed in or on the Application.
Public Educational Data Disclaimer
The Application aggregates, structures, and visualizes institutional directories, public teacher rosters, and alumni reference metrics extracted from open-access public portals operated by the educational authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan (such as https://bakimektebleri.edu.az/). Regarding this data, you acknowledge and agree that:
- The Service Provider does not own, generate, or formally certify the historical accuracy of the records scraped from these official public domains.
- The Application provides an information ("i") button on respective profiles to guarantee transparency, pointing directly to the original web source and indicating the retrieval timestamp.
- The Service Provider accepts no liability for any direct or indirect loss, inconvenience, or administrative misalignments you experience as a result of relying entirely on public third-party government information visualized through the Application.
- The Service Provider maintains a strict take-down protocol. Affected public individuals (teachers, alumni, or officials) who wish to hide or blacklist their publicly indexed directory profile from our software interface can request immediate removal by contacting [email protected].
User-Generated Content and Acceptable Use
The Application provides completely optional profile customization features (such as bios, school/university preferences, workplace details). If you submit or post any content, you agree not to upload information that:
- Is illegal, fraudulent, or violates third-party intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Is abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or constitutes hate speech.
- Contains discrimination, misleading details, or false representations.
- Is spam, phishing metrics, or contains malicious software loops.
The Service Provider reserves the right to moderate, filter, hide, or permanently delete any optional user-generated content or custom profiles that violate these guidelines, or suspend accounts of users who repeatedly misuse the registration infrastructure.
Account Security and Device Compliance
The Application securely processes the voluntary personal data you provide in order to run the platform. It is your sole responsibility to maintain the physical security of your mobile phone and secure access to the Application. The Service Provider strongly advises against jailbreaking or rooting your device, which involves removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system. Such actions could expose your phone to malware, compromise security features, and cause the Application to malfunction or fail completely.

Internet Usage and Mobile Network Charges
Certain core features of the Application require an active internet connection (Wi-Fi or cellular data). The Service Provider cannot be held responsible if the Application does not function at full capacity due to a lack of network access. If you are utilizing the Application outside of a Wi-Fi zone, your mobile network provider's standard data rates, roaming fees, and agreement terms still apply. You accept full responsibility for any such operational data charges.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service Provider (Maktap Team) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, loss of data, personal device battery exhaustion, or system interruptions arising out of your use or inability to use the Application.
Since the core search features of the Application are provided completely free of charge, any total liability for verified administrative claims shall be limited to the absolute minimum monetary amount permitted under the applicable consumer protection law of the jurisdiction.
Termination and Software Updates
The Service Provider may update the Application from time to time to maintain synchronization with operating systems or database adjustments. You must download offered updates to continue using the platform properly. The Service Provider also reserves the right to cease providing or supporting earlier versions of the software at any time.
The Service Provider may suspend or terminate your access to optional services immediately without prior notice if you violate these Terms, engage in malicious automated API spamming, or infringe security boundaries.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Any legal dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the utilization of this Application shall be submitted exclusively to the competent courts of Baku, Azerbaijan.
Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, and the remaining terms shall continue in full force and effect. These Terms, combined with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire legal agreement between you and Maktap Team.
